Holiday Time

I'm not a huge fan of this time of year. (Say wha???) I'm so serious, y'all.

Growing up, we celebrated the candy giving holiday through "churchy" events. I can honestly say I've never once trick-or-treated and I don't feel slighted.

I'm not a fan of anything scary. Not. At. All. I can't even appreciate when my husband comes into the kitchen unannounced and hugs me from behind. The element of surprise is just not my thing.

So for this time of year, with all the hype to be scary, I just simply bow out. I keep my family close by and just kind of stay put. We use to attend fall carnivals in October, but thanks to COVID-19 that's all on hold right now.

One amazing event that happens this time of year, that I cannot forget to mention, is my baby sister's birthday! So a huge happy birthday to Liz!!

What about you? Do you have something awesome that happens this time of year? How do you celebrate the events coming this weekend?

For me I'll be sticking close to home and will honestly spend time doing something completely opposite of showcasing costumes and handing out candy. I'm going to sit in bed and read a really good book :)...with a delicious cup of hot peach tea....and a cozy blanket to snuggle...and my soft warm pillow....(you get the idea) :)

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Isaiah 41:10-God's promise to us <3
"Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

So agreed! When I was a kid we lived in the “country” and always had wrapped candy bars and gospel tracts to hand out with each bar but so few kids came that we ended up with a stock of chocolate bars afterwards. (Churches didn’t have positive alternatives to negative activities back then.) Thus for me, Fall is associated with chocolate bars available for a few weeks after Oct 31!! ;-) I don’t even like to call it halloween because, to me, occultists robbed Nov. 1 Christians’ All Saints Day joys by preluding it the evening before with witches etc.

My family does the same thing! We always stay in around Halloween, although I too have no complaints.
